Certification

To ensure that SmartCraft vessel integration systems function without connectivity or information transfer problems, all products sold as compatible with the system must be "SmartCraft Certified". After certification, the product's manufacturer is authorized and required to brand it with the "SmartCraft Networked" diamond logo.

SmartCraft's Certified Product Development Process

1. Secure a SmartCraft license from MotoTron and receive the SmartCraft protocol documentation that applies to making your product SmartCraft compatible.

2. Complete the comprehensive SmartCraft Product requirements documentation that will be supplied to you by MotoTron.

  • This document will become the base document for all future development, support and information sharing about your Networked product.

  • 3. Meet with the MotoTron SmartCraft team to define and build a PC / CAN based SmartCraft Test Interface (STI) tool.

  • This tool will be designed specifically for your product.

  • 4. Submit your product to MotoTron for comprehensive validation testing.

    5. MotoTron completes validation testing and certifies that your product communicates properly within the SmartCraft Network.

    6. Your product is released for sale and authorized to be labeled with the "SmartCraft Networked" branding.
