Connecting products to SmartCraft has been designed to be as simple and inexpensive as possible, while maintaining very high standards for water sealing and robust design.

SmartCraft uses a strategy and actual connectors that are very similar to what is common in the automotive industry. All connectors used are designed with triple sealing and easy assembly. While connectors will vary slightly, all connectors in the SmartCraft system are preassembled, eliminating infield miss wiring issues that are caused by assembling connectors at the installation site. While not recommended, if connectors must be taken off harnesses for running cables, they can also be easily re-assembled.

Each SmartCraft product in the network is eventually connected to a simple junction box which expands the system. SmartCraft also uses a flexible CAN bus termination approach putting terminators either in the main cable, in a specific harness, or at the common junction box.
